We don’t often realize the impact our existence in the world has on others. When we struggle to make it through a day, we aren’t seeing what others do. For example, on rough days, I see failure and weakness, while those close to me see strength and determination. To be able to climb back from the pits each time takes energy—both physical and mental. Our words can affect others even when what we say doesn’t seem like anything special.

I wrote this, but stopped to help a friend struggling to find a reason to go on. Later, I added one sentence.
Maybe it’s not the words we use, but the fact we take time to speak.
