Determining how much to share with others can be a tough decision. Some people might react in a negative way whereas others might not change how they behave toward us at all. Do we take the chance and tell others, then? Or do we keep it to ourselves?

Sharing doesn't mean we're proud we have the disorder. And not sharing doesn't mean we're ashamed of having the disorder. We have a bipolar diagnosis. We should never feel as if we need to keep it a secret. It's a part of us that will never go away.
