What is the blame?

Bipolar is a brain disorder. Our brain effects every aspect of our body. So when we experience a mood swing, even though it involves our emotions, the episode originates in the brain.

OK, so that isn't new information. And maybe my brain is too tired today to make sense. Maybe I should back up . . .

My 'normal' sleep pattern isn't the best. If I manage five straight hours in a night, I'm pleased. For the past month or so, I've been exhausted. I go to bed several hours earlier and sleep much later, for a total of ten to twelve hours. I don't see that as a problem considering I've dealt with numerous stress-related issues over the past six months.

So how much of that change can we blame on the bipolar and how much is from the stress? When I'm tired, and my moods are different, is that from the bipolar or the stress?

I have bipolar, yes. But don't blame every mood change or difference in my routine on the disorder.
