Most of us will have days where we lack energy. Factors such as the weather or an illness leave us lethargic and lazy. Hours pass but the list of accomplishments remains empty.

Days without energy are a part of life--and a part of bipolar. Separating the two isn't easy. However, for those of us with bipolar, it's important to know the difference between a lazy day and the loss of energy due to the disorder. One day can become two, or three, or a week. By then, the darkness of a bipolar low should be evident.

But fighting our way out of the low can take weeks. If we learn the signs, we might be able to ward off the low.
