Goals are important. Long-term, short-term, daily, even hourly . . . choosing the time frame that works best for us is the key.
Long-term goals can add stress to someone with bipolar. The mood swings can make it difficult to adhere to the schedule needed to reach the goal. Setting short-term goals can be the better option.
Instead of a 5-year financial plan, for example, work on a 6-month or 3-month plan. Find what works best for you. Then be ready to adapt that plan if the bipolar puts you off track.
