What would you do to help your loved one if he or she had bipolar? How much would you read about the disorder? As a parent, a spouse, a sibling, wouldn't you do everything in your power to learn the triggers, understand the mood swings, and know how to help them get through the lows?
It's not difficult. If you love someone, you should be willing to take the time to learn about their disorder. If they had cancer, you would get involved with their treatment, right?
I find it appalling and irritating when someone doesn't have time to learn as much as possible about this disorder if their loved one struggles with it. The condition won't go away. Just because they're doing better today doesn't mean they're better. And just because they look happier, doesn't mean they're happier inside.
Please, take a few minutes and learn.
